Commissioner Nicolet's Acceptance Speech

I am  Steven Nicolet, and I'm reporting for duty.

We are here tonight because we love The PYX. We're proud of our league and what it can become.

My fellow pickers, we're here tonight united in one purpose: to make The PYX stronger at home and respected in the world. 

Together, we're going to write the next great chapter of The PYX story.

We have it in our power to change the picking world, but only if we're true to our ideals. And that starts by telling the truth to the pickers.  As President and Commissioner, that is my first pledge to you tonight: As President, I will restore trust and credibility to the Commissioner's Office.

I am very pleased to present the new cabinet of the Commissioner's Office:

Each Executive Officer will be sworn into office this week at a private milk initiation ceremony in Jenison, Michigan.  The new PYX Administration is bigger and bolder than ever.  We are going to embark into the greatest time period in PYX history.  This administration is about to roll out a strategic plan that will bring this league great achievements and recognition.  I have assembled a dynamic administration blessed with amazing talents and ideas.

And what can I say about Malea?  She has the strongest moral compass of anyone I know. She's down to earth, nurturing, courageous, wise and smart. She speaks her mind, and she speaks the truth, and I love her for that, too. And that's why the pickers will embrace her as the new first lady of The PYX.

You will notice that my first act as President/Commissioner of this great league was to make a clean and environmentally friendly website.  the PYX web pages are more green and recyclable than ever before.  Yes, you will find a few old archived pages not yet converted, but we are definitely making progress.  I pledge by the end of first year in office, the entire PYX website will be green.

I am excited about all of the possibilities.  Stay tuned as more positive changes await us.  Amazing things are just around the corner. 

Never has there been a moment more urgent for pickers to step up and define ourselves. I will work my heart out. But, my fellow pickers, the outcome is still in your hands.  Together we can create a new beginning!

It is time to reach for the next dream. It is time to look to the next horizon. For The PYX, the hope is there. The sun is rising. Our best days are still to come.
