Final Comments on the 2003-04 Season

Now that the season has come to a close, the members of this league must look into the mirror and ask themselves these questions:

1. Who will step up and defeat Hamilton next year?
2. Who will be the next Commissioner?
3. What new laws will be added to the Constitution?
4. What will the Metro Brotherhood try to do next?
5. How many delegates will attend the next PYX Summit?

HARANCZAK HAS BEEN REMOVED

Yes, the Commissioner was removed by Executive Board order last week.  This was carried out legally by our constitution.  Commissioner Haranczak had recently called for a "Gag Order" and suspended the PYX Play-Offs.  The play-offs were NOT suspended and the picking continued proving that not even the Commissioner of the league can stop The PYX.

The PYX league has decided to reduce the Terror Level from Red to yellow.  It remains safe to make picks at this time.

The league will immediately conduct a special election to elect a new Commissioner.

PYX EDITORIAL - 2004

TO: The PYX Community
FROM:  The 2004 Executive Board

SUBJECT:  The Haranczak Years 2001-2004

Yes, Kevin Haranczak was the first Commissioner impeached and removed from office.  This is a sad time in our league history, but let us look back at some of the positives that came about during the Haranczak Administration.

1. A tougher image was achieved by Commissioner Haranczak.  Many saw this as a negative and wanted a kinder & gentler picking nation.  But we must remember that we are associated with the world of football...and football is not a soft sport.  Haranczak cracked down on improper picking and banned people who were not committed to The PYX.

2. When the GVSU and WS websites went down, Kevin set-up the "Angel Fire" account.  He learned a little HTML and did it all himself.  While many complained that the PYX website looked unprofessional and childish, Commissioner Haranczak single-handedly kept the web presence alive.

3.  Kevin Haranczak not only was a founding father, but he was the person who named our league The Picks.  And then in 2002, he renamed it The PYX.  Some of his critics claim that he simply misspelled the word, but no matter what, that is the name of this great league.

4. Commissioner Haranczak faced more scrutiny than any other Commissioner in PYX history.  He was under constant attack from the right and the left wing.  He received very little support, had no budget to work with and no one seemed to listen to him.  Many of his press conferences were held in front of an empty room.  And yet, through all of this turmoil and tribulation, he stayed loyal to The PYX and will remain a member at large.

NOTE:  Even though Kevin Haranczak has been given a form of punishment from the league, he will remain in "Good-Standing".  He receives this "good-standing" status based on his Commissioner immunity to more  severe forms of punishment.
