The PICKS - 2000
Commissioner Bonn Interviewed by Local Television

Grand Rapids, MI, January 26, 2000 -- Thursday evening following President Clinton's State of the Union Address, local television station, WOOD TV caught up with the current Commissioner of the PICKS, Gary L. Bonn.  Bonn was spotted by reporters on the campus of Grand Valley State University as he was entering the Field House Recreation Center.

It appeared that Mr. Bonn was in the middle of an exercise routine.  Bonn told the TV 8 news reporter that he has started a conditioning program as he begins his rigorous re-election campaign.  He stated the need to be fit as he takes on Paul Landry in the primary.

Bonn was quite cordial with the news reporter, but seemed to skirt away certain PICKS issues.  When asked about his reaction to Landry's new proposed Playoff Format, the Commissioner just smiled and changed the subject to HMO and health care issues.  It was clear that he was waiting to reveal his platform during the scheduled debates this weekend at the Tower Plaza Conference Center in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bonn did comment on the 1999 Picks season.
"I tip my hat to Peter Tadros of the Saturn Boys Group for capturing his first Picks Championship this year.  He lead the entire season and pulled away from Kent Fisher, Joe Thome and Jeff Nichols down the stretch."

"I would also like to say 'Thank you' to Steven Nicolet for adding "Trash Talk" to the Picks website.  It's a great way to voice your opinion about the league."

Mr. Kevin Haranczak and Mr. Deep Throat are scheduled to fly into Grand Rapids for the Commissioner debate on January 30.  Mr. Paul Landry is unable to attend but will send a representative in his place.  The debate is Sunday at 4:30 pm (EST).
