And likewise, congratulations Steve Veldkamp, the first ever champion of The LATECOMERS pool!!! Nice job Mr. Veldkamp!!! Please send your congratulations to Steve to sjtveldkamp@aol.com Also, Veldkamp ended up with more wins than Doogie--- how did that happen?

I must also give congratulations to Joe Thome!!! By being the leader in The PICKS for a record 12 consecutive weeks, Joe Thome set the tone for the caliber of PICKS this season. 9 people broke the previous record of 159 wins in a single season by Kevin Brower, and much of this can be attributed to the precedent set the majority of the season by Mr. Thome (sorry, Joe, but the crown still goes to Mr. Seelye)

The 1998 PICKing season saw many revelations. Not only can PICKers now check the STANDINGS via the world wide web, but PICKers also gained the ability to submit their PICKS each week in a very quick, easy, and efficient manner through the Euchre Club web site. Everyone in the PICKS benefited from this thanks to the efforts of Steven Nicolet---THANK YOU STEVEN! Honestly folks, the website made the PICKS more interesting (to say the least) this season, and very easy. It took a lot of work to get this website started and updated each week--- PLEASE send a note of thanx to Steven at snicolet@hotmail.com --- the PICKS would not have been The PICKS this year without all his effort!

Doogie--- congrats on finishing last again!

In the battle for what’s right in the panty world—Kent Fisher wins the Panty award for 1998 -- Congratulations Kent-- OK Kev, that means you must surrender Paula’s panties to Kent this year!!!

A HUGE pat on the back not only goes to David and Joe, but also to John, Steven, Peter, myself, Jeff, Craig, and Nelson for breaking Brower’s silly record of 159 wins!!! Way to go gentlemen!!!

I would also like to thank Steve Veldkamp, Jamie Maatman, Malea Quimbach, Dennis Harmor, Craig James-Heer, and of course Kent Fisher for joining us this year in The PICKS!!! I look forward to PICKing with you “guys” next year in The PICKS!!!

And to all the veteran PICKers—thanx for another great year!!!

Kyle-- even though you didn’t get your PICKs in during week 1—thanx for sticking with it and getting them each week there after!!!

And to all of you PICKERS--- thanx for making this the best year of PICKing yet--- 9 people breaking the all time record for most wins in a season is INCREDIBLE! And it was by far the most entertaining (all-be-it nerve racking for yours truly) season of PICKS!!!!

1. Who’s Judge Cushman?
2. Who’s The COMMISSIONER!!

Please keep checking the website regularly— the archive section will be updated in the next few months or so--- an on-going log will be kept of who has won the PICKS each year, who has the most wins overall, who has the all time winning percentage, etc.
