Fellow Pickers:
Playoffs are here! The Wildcard round saw
a lot of excitement. As Nicolet endorsed, 4 Hamiltonians made
the playoffs, and we are off to a good start as half of them
have been eliminated. Pickers, the playoffs this year will once
again see a cleansing of the pollution that comes from
Hamilton. It started this week, and will continue next week.
Let’s take a look at last week’s matchups:
APC
Ryan Thome vs. Kevin Haranczak
In simple terms, Haranczak got his buttocks
handed to him! He’s got an entire offseason to keep talking,
and there is no doubt he will! Enjoy the view, Kev, and
congratulations on an impressive victory, Ryan!
Brent VanWieren vs. Brian Klingenberg
This one saw an inbreeding of two
Hamiltonians! Brent came out on top. Brian didn’t like it very
much, but what do you do!? Brian had an incredible season last
year and this year. Brent likewise has been one of the most
consistently successful pickers the last several years. Brent
moves on!
NPC
Paul Landry vs. Joel Dalman
Joel Dalman flexed some muscle in an
impressive win! Joel had a great season, having a lot of
overall correct picks, and a division championship. Paul Landry
turned it on late in the season. Paul will have to regroup
while Joel represents Hamilton in the next round!
Linda Dalman vs. Trevor Maus
In his rookie season, Trevor showed he can
contend. He is the youngest of all pickers, just a tender 18
years old. The youngster had a tough first round taking on the
defending PYX Bowl champ. Trev edged out Linda, and will be
moving on. Looks like we will have a new champ this year! Who
will it be?!

Let’s take a look at this week’s matchups and
predictions:
APC
Nate
Lucas vs. Ryan Thome
This may
be the biggest matchup of this round. These are two
very good pickers the past few years. Nate has been
around almost since the beginning. In fact, I think
Nate worked with Ryan’s dad when Ryan was still
battling acne? Ryan is everyone’s hero right now
because he eliminated Haranczak, but I gotta give
the edge to the number one seeded Nate Lucas to move
on!
Brent VanWieren vs. Gary Bonn
If Nate
vs. Ryan isn’t the best matchup, maybe this one is?
Brent and Gary have quite a history. Gary defeated
Brent a few years back for a PYX Bowl trophy. Brent
returned the very next season to claim his PYX Bowl
trophy! Gary defeated Brent earlier this season!
For no better reason than a personal bias, I’m
giving the edge to Gary on this one! And so goes
another Hamiltonian!

Joel
Dalman vs. Peter Tadros
Oh great,
another Hamiltonian! Peter DOMINATED the league in
correct PYX this year, while Joel was a distant
second. Peter had to turn it on late, but probably
enters the playoffs the hottest picker (and by hot I
may or may not be referring to sex appeal)! Can
Peter’s momentum be stopped? Not in this round! I
predict Peter over Joel, and an end to Hamiltonians!
Trevor Maus vs. Josh Sova
This is
intriguing. Both pickers in their rookie seasons in
the playoffs and facing each other! Josh claiming a
number one seen no less, and edging out Trevor for
rookie of the year! These pickers are the way of
the future! Again, call it a bias, by my heart has
to go with Trev on this one! Sorry Josh…. Go
