The
PYX enters it's 15th season this year. Are you ready for
some football!? The first game of the season will feature
the defending Super Bowl Champions, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the
Tennessee Titans on a special Thursday night event. With
only a few days before the start of the season, we have a small
window in which to get those picks submitted.
The first week of season is always the most
confusing. Many people are late making picks so the chance
for an upset increases. Please make sure you get your
picks submitted before kick-off of the Thursday night game.
According to our By-Laws, you may still be able to get picks in
on Sunday, if you happen to forget and miss that first game.
But don't take a chance; get them in early.
On behalf of The PYX
Administration, Cabinet, Supreme Court, Congress and members at
large, I salute Linda Dalman for winning last years PYX Bowl.
She is the defending champion and has a big target on her back
just like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Linda came out on fire
last year. She got off to that stellar 8-0 start and
finished with a career best 11-5 record. Her picking
percentage also increased as she pulled in a 160-83
(.658)...also a career best. She seems to keep getting better
and the better as the years roll along. But where does she
go from here?
We are going to be trying something new this year, we've
created a PYX Facebook account. We are looking for ways to
increase the web traffic to the PYX Forum and this is the new
proposal. We'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
Currently there is one new picker this year. Let's give a
warm welcome to Mr. Josh Sova. Josh has already
participated in the PYX March Madness. He has earned his
way into our Football League. Josh was selected as the #1
draft pick of the 2009-2010. He will take the place of
retired picker, Dennis Harmor. Dennis entered the league
in 1998, and continued to faithfully pick for the next 11 years.
Farewell Dennis...Thank you for all the memories.
There was also a slight realignment of a couple of the
divisions. Please take a look at your schedule and your
division standings to notice any changes. We had
a great summer and an excellent annual PYX Summit which Gary
Bonn graciously hosted. We had a great turn-out at the
Summit in Lansing: Gary Bonn, Peter Tadros, Steven
Nicolet, Thomas Van Dyke, Matt Cushman, Kevin Haranczak, Paul
Landry, Jeff Nichols, Gene Koon and Al Bonn. Many topics
were carefully covered. In fact, there was so much policy
making that we had to divide the summit into two different
locations.

The 2009 PYX - Annual Summit - Lansing, MI Thank you, and good luck in Week 1.
