GENE KOON DOES IT AGAIN

Gene Koon sweeps all awards this week.  Mr. Koon not only grabs the coveted Picker of the Week Award, but he captures his 2nd "Loner of the Week" Award this season.  He amassed an incredible 11-2 picking performance which beats out everyone else.  The 11-2 record also represents the lowest number of incorrect picks in a single week.  Gene was so dominating in his victory that Gary never knew what hit him.  After he picked Washington to defeat Dallas on the road, it was all over.  After that, Koon just played put in the 2nd string to go on to win by 5 games.

One of the biggest games of the week was the battle between the undefeated....Rachelle Sova vs. Rene Garza (of Hamilton).  Garza got the best of Rachelle by two games (10-3 to 8-5).  Now there remains only 3 teams who are undefeated:  Rene Garza, Brian Klingenberg and Linda Dalman (each a member of the Hamilton Federation).

Once again there were four games that went into overtime:

Al Bonn over Todd Prins

Don Zysk over Dennis Harmor

Thomas Van Dyke over David Seelye

Mike Colliau over Kyle Chauv

The final score for the Monday Night game between Pittsburgh and Baltimore was 23 to 20 for 43 total points. Don Zysk was the only picker to get it right...picking exactly 43 points.  It was a good thing that he rested up last week for that grueling overtime victory.

How long can Klingenberg keep getting lucky?  He has now won 2 games in overtime and another game because of a forfeit.  That's right, Jay Zink forgot to make his picks this week.  Maybe he thought that it was a bye week or something.  But once again, Klingenberg is in the right place at the right time.

As we take a closer look at the standings, we can start to see division leaders emerging.  Jeff Nichols won an important division game and now he is a half game ahead of Peter Tadros.  Kevin Sandoval squeaked out a narrow victory over Matt Cushman to take sole possession of his division.  Garza, Dalman and Klingenberg are obviously in first place in their respective divisions with unblemished marks.  Ryan Thome (the picking percentage winner 2 years ago) maintains a half game lead over Al Nowak in the east division.  Nicolet opens up a lead in the South Division because of the bye week for Dalman and Thome.  And Rachelle Sova and Gary Bonn lose to keep Sova in the driver's seat in the North Division.

One more important note...When it's your bye week, it is still in your best interest to make your picks as Peter and Joe did this week.  We all know how tight it gets in the last week of the regular season and those few extra games may be the difference in making the play-offs or not.  The Dalman's had better hope that it doesn't come back to bite them in the end.

The standings are now updated and posted.  You can take a look at the final scores between you and your opponent in the Schedule.  Also, you can click on the NFL link to see the final scores of the games already completed:  NFL .

Thank you, and good luck in Week 5.
