Special Report By Gary Bonn

First of all I would like to congratulate the ENTIRE PYX community.  Everyone submitted PYX this week!!!!  Is this a first of the season?!  As we come down the stretch, it is CRUCIAL all picks get submitted.  Lets make people EARN their division titles!

With just 5 weeks left to go in the PYX regular season, pickers are buckling down and focusing on their divisions.  There is a lot of competitiveness and very interesting matchups that happened this week.

Here is a synopsis of what happened in Week 12 by division:

 NPC WEST

Dennis had made some franchise adjustments early on in the season, and they seem to be paying off.  He and Thomas had one of heck of a battle, but on the strength of the Saints offense, Dennis edged out Thomas.  This now ties Dennis with Thomas in the division.  With Rene Garza on a slide, there is now a three way tie for first in the NPC west between these three pickers.  With Garza being a previous PYX Bowl Champion and Thomas being the runner-up in last years' PYX Bowl, could Dennis Harmor actually come out on top in this Division!?  What an interesting race!

 NPC EAST

Does anyone know what happened to Don Zysk??  He is a classic case of "Where are They Now?"  If you notice, Zysk is bottom dwelling in this division.  Whatever happened to the glory days when Zyskie could hang his head high and trash talk with the best of em?  Come back, Zysk!

Jeff Nichols is holding on to a tight lead but this division is far from over. Peter and Paul are trying to pose as contenders... can one of them crank it up and make it a tighter race?   Time will tell!

 NPC NORTH

This division also just got a bit closer.  With some tweaking also done in the Al Bonn franchise, he managed to return to his old PYX form and pull off a major upset of first place Kevin Sandoval.  Sandoval's loss, coupled with a Todd Prins victory over Jeff Nichols, makes this division within a couple games as well.  Todd has been turning it up, can Sandoval handle the pressure???

 NPC SOUTH

This week offered a HUGE battle in the NPC South.  What in the world has happened to the once red hot Linda Dalman?  She was completely dominated by Colliau this week, and has lost 3 in a row.  Colliau hasn't gotten much respect this year, but my hat is off to him.  He now takes a share of the lead in the division with Linda.  This division is one to watch!!!!  Kyle Chauv will have to turn it up and get some more "Picker of the Week" awards if he wants a playoff shot!!

It is also important to note that this is the only division in the league that offers perfection (zero is a perfect number).  Hey Harryman, Vegas called, they're now taking bets on who will win first, your or the Lions!?

 APC WEST

This division has been dominated by Brian Klingenberg all season.  However, Nate Lucas is not about to concede.  He too pulled off a major upset when he bumped out Klingenberg this week on his way to being named "Picker of the Week" (with Kyle Chauv).  Klingenberg can clinch this division with either 2 wins or a win and a Nate Lucas loss.  This would be one heck of a comeback if Nate Lucas can pull this off!

 APC EAST

Kevin Rosenau (PYX Bowl VI Champion) is trying to keep his lead over Nowak and Haranczak.  In all honesty, I think its safe to call this division and give the title to Rosenau.  Even though his lead is only a game, I'm guessing Haranczak and Nowak will continue their pot-pie love affair...  And be completely distracted from winning the division.  Hey Haranczak, mediocrity just doesn't seem to be getting your anywhere this year!

 APC SOUTH

They used to be best friends.  Now they are bitter division rivals.  Things are ugly between Nicolet and Van Wieren.  Nicolet holds a two game lead over Van Wieren.  If anyone knows Nicolet's picking styles, its his former best friend.  This division may come down to the very end.  These are two solid pickers over the years, stay tuned to see who takes the APC South.  I'm sure someone from Hamilton will win this division.

 APC NORTH

Rachelle Sova is trying to keep up with division leader Gary Bonn. The edge this week went to Sova, as she is keeping pace just two games back in the APC North.  Gene Koon is on the rise (nice win over Nicolet) and could be a sleeper in the division.  This may come down to the wire.

Here are your current division leaders:

APC
Kevin Rosenau 7-3-1
Gary Bonn       9-2
Steven Nicolet   8-3
Brian Klingenberg 9-2
Wildcard Hopefuls:
Rachelle Sova 7-4
Al Nowak 6-4-1
Gene Koon 6-5
Brent Van Wieren 6-5

NPC
Jeff Nichols 7-4
Kevin Sandoval 8-3
Linda Dalman/Mike Colliau 8-3
Thomas VanDyke/Rene Garza/Dennis Harmor 6-4
Wildcard Hopefuls
Mike Colliau/Linda Dalman 8-3
Todd Prins 6-4
Thomas VanDyke/Rene Garza/Dennis Harmor 6-4

It's do or die time.  The next few weeks will determine who the real pickers are.

Check out these matchups of the week in week 13:

Al Nowak @Kevin Rosenau - If Nowak wins, he pulls into a tie with Rosenau in the divison.  If Rosenau wins, he gets much needed cushion.

Kevin Sandoval @ Todd Prins -  Todd can pull within one game of Sandoval with a victory.  Sandoval can assert his power in the division with a victory.

We'll be keeping a close eye on these two very important matchups this week.  Good luck everyone.  Its time to put up or shut up folks...  Let's keep it real!!

Gary Bonn,
