Week 2 is in the books and what a week of football it was.  I still can’t figure out what is more shocking, Gary Bonn at the bottom of the APC North Division or “The Juice” getting squeezed out in Las Vegas under alleged charges of “Armed Robbery”.  I am probably more shocked than anyone else because Gary was my pre-season favorite to win that division.  Boy was I wrong.

 “Step it up Gary, you’re getting sandwiched by the ladies.  They all have better records than you!!!”

 Congratulations go out to the Tri-winners of the “Picker of the week” award.  Al Bonn, Steve Harryman  and Brian “Wow, look what I can  do when I don’t watch the farm” Klinkenberg.   They all get the high and mighty powerful touchdown dance in the end zone going 12 – 4 and being “on fire”.  Don’t worry gentleman, there will be no fines or penalties for celebratory dances, so go ahead and dance away – You deserve it. 

While a lot of you are still cheering your good fortune of winning and staying undefeated at 2 & 0.  There are others such as “Joel Dalman” for example, that are scratching your heads and wondering “How do I shake this Notre Dame syndrome” and come up with a win.  Here’s a bit of advice – Consult Linda! Obviously she knows something you don’t.  Maybe she can get you out of the basement and on the road to a victory. 

We have 2 weeks under our belts.  I want to thank each and every one of you for your patience as we work out the bugs of the weekly standings.  I can assure you that the administration is looking very closely at the results each week and are swiftly making corrections to make sure the results are accurate and just.  I can also assure you that we have put procedures in place to both automatically and manually check the results for accuracy.  If you find an error, please continue to bring that to our attention.  Remember, The PYX has 24hour Customer Service…we are always standing by.  I can promise you that nothing will get swept under the rug.  That is not the type of administration I run.  I WILL NOT RUN!  THERE IS NO YELLOW DOWN MY BACK UNLIKE THOSE CHEATING PITTSBURGH STEELERS (Just ask The Bus).

I ask for your patience this week as Week 3’s Commissioner Corner and Standings were delayed.  My sincere apologies for the delay.  We will continually look for improvements.  Speaking of which...I have been asked to go to Las Vegas this weekend and meet with some individuals that could change The PYX in ways you have never seen.  In my absence, my Executive Vice Commissioner, Mr. Gary Bonn, will be taking over to deal with any and all administrative matters.    Gary, you are herby appointed as the Acting Interim Commissioner. 

I also want to let everyone know about an important upcoming event that is vital to the success of The PYX.  More important than the 2008 US Presidential Election, it is time for The PYX COMMISSIONER Election.  Beginning in 2008 The PYX will undergo important changes.  As one of the basic rights of all pickers, you have the right to choose your leadership and it won’t cost you a dime.  There will be no campaign contributions only good old fashion trash talk “I mean debate”.    At the summit, we had a discussion with the franchise owners and came up with the following Procedures for the election:

Until Week 6 anyone can file papers for candidacy.  You may submit your credentials for the office of “Commissioner of The PYX”.

Following Week 6, if the candidates meet the election criteria and if there are 3 or more candidates, then a primary election will take place over the next two weeks.  At hat point we will narrow the field to TWO Finalist. If there are only 2 candidates running for office then there will be no primary and we will go straight to the campaign (starting in week 8 and lasting through until week 17).  After the regular season concludes, we will hold the general election and next year’s Commission will be announced the following week.

 So if you think you have what it takes to lead the charge for PYX supremacy and can get the job done then this may be the job for you.
